Every business website has the same problem: visitors arrive, browse around, and leave without making contact. You might get a handful of form submissions per week — but for every one that fills out your contact form, dozens more slip away silently.
What if someone was there to greet every single visitor the moment they landed? Someone who could answer their questions instantly, understand what they need, and guide them toward the next step — whether that’s booking a consultation, requesting a quote, or simply learning more about your services?
That’s exactly what Evie does. And she does it 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, without ever taking a break.
What Is an AI Chatbot and Why Does Your Website Need One?
An AI chatbot is a software assistant that lives on your website and communicates with visitors through a chat interface. Unlike old-school chatbots that follow rigid scripts and can only respond to exact phrases, modern AI chatbots like Evie use advanced language models to understand natural conversation.
Here’s why this matters for your business:
- Speed wins deals. Research shows that businesses that respond to enquiries within 5 minutes are 100x more likely to convert them into customers. An AI chatbot responds in seconds.
- Most visitors won’t fill out a form. Contact forms have an average conversion rate of just 1-3%. A conversational chatbot feels more natural and captures significantly more leads.
- Your team can’t be online 24/7. But your website gets visitors at all hours — evenings, weekends, holidays. Every unanswered visitor is a missed opportunity.
- Repetitive questions drain your time. How much does it cost? What services do you offer? Do you work in my area? An AI chatbot handles these instantly so your team can focus on high-value work.
How Evie Works: AI-Powered Lead Generation on Autopilot
Evie is not a template chatbot with canned responses. She’s powered by Claude AI — one of the world’s most advanced language models — which means she genuinely understands what visitors are asking and responds naturally.
Step 1: Evie Greets Your Visitors
The moment someone lands on your website, Evie appears as a sleek chat widget in the corner of the screen. She introduces herself with a friendly welcome message (or a welcome video if you prefer) and offers helpful quick actions like “Get a Quote,” “Our Services,” or “Ask a Question.”
Step 2: Evie Answers Their Questions
Visitors can type any question in plain English. Evie draws from your custom knowledge base — information you’ve provided about your business, services, pricing approach, team, and processes — to give accurate, helpful answers. She sounds natural because she’s not matching keywords; she’s understanding intent.
Step 3: Evie Captures the Lead
When a visitor shows buying intent, Evie smoothly transitions into lead capture mode. Through natural conversation, she collects their name, email, phone number, business details, what they’re looking for, and their budget range. No clunky forms — just a friendly chat.
Step 4: You Get Notified Instantly
The moment Evie captures a lead, you receive a detailed email notification with all the visitor’s information plus the full conversation transcript. The lead is also saved to your Evie dashboard in WordPress where you can track, manage, and export all your leads.
What Makes Evie Different from Other WordPress Chatbots?
The WordPress plugin directory has dozens of chatbot options. Here’s why businesses are choosing Evie instead:
Real AI, Not Decision Trees
Most chatbot plugins use decision trees — rigid flowcharts where every response is pre-written. If a visitor asks something slightly unexpected, the bot breaks. Evie uses Claude AI to understand context and respond intelligently, even to questions she’s never seen before.
Your Knowledge Base, Her Brain
You simply paste text about your business into the Knowledge Base editor in WordPress admin. Your services, your team, your processes, your FAQs — Evie absorbs it all and uses it to answer visitor questions accurately. No technical setup required.
Talk to a Human Instantly
Sometimes a visitor needs a real person. With Evie Pro, visitors can request to chat with a human. You receive an SMS with a magic link — tap it on your phone and you’re in a live chat with the visitor instantly. No app to install, no login required.
Built for Australian Businesses
Evie is built by Evosion, a digital marketing agency based in Sydney that works with businesses across Australia. We understand the local market, local business needs, and what it takes to convert Australian website visitors into customers.
Premium Design That Matches Your Brand
Evie’s chat widget looks premium — dark glassmorphism design, smooth animations, and full brand customisation. Change her name, avatar, colours, and welcome message to match your website perfectly. She’ll look like a natural part of your site, not a cheap plugin.
Industries Where Evie Excels
Evie works for any business with a website, but she’s particularly powerful for:
Professional Services
Accountants, lawyers, consultants, and financial advisors can use Evie to qualify leads before they even pick up the phone. She asks the right questions to determine if the prospect is a good fit — saving your team hours of back-and-forth emails.
Healthcare and Medical
Medical centres, dental clinics, and allied health providers can use Evie to answer common patient questions about services, availability, and booking — reducing phone call volume and improving patient experience. We’ve already seen this work with clients in our portfolio.
Trades and Home Services
Plumbers, electricians, builders, and landscapers often miss leads because they’re on the job and can’t answer calls. Evie captures every enquiry while you’re working, complete with job details and contact information.
Digital Agencies and SaaS
If you sell services or software online, Evie can explain your offerings, handle objections, and route qualified leads directly to your sales team — all without human intervention.
The Numbers: Why AI Chatbots Are the Fastest Growing Website Feature
The data speaks for itself:
- 67% of consumers worldwide have interacted with a chatbot in the past 12 months
- 3x more leads are captured by websites using conversational AI versus static contact forms
- 78% of customers buy from the company that responds first
- $8 billion in annual cost savings are projected from chatbot adoption by 2026
- 90% of customer queries can be resolved by AI without human intervention
Businesses that adopt AI chatbots now are building a significant competitive advantage. Every day without one is another day of lost leads.
