Website launch checklist: every check before and after go-live

Website Launch Checklist: What to Check Before and After Going Live

A website launch isn’t finished the moment the site goes live. The details checked in the first few days decide whether it actually brings in enquiries.

Use this checklist for any website launch. It covers the website itself, then the setup that turns it into a working marketing channel: tracking, leads, SEO and social. Where a step needs a tool, we’ve noted what we use at Evosion.

Why the Launch Checks Matter

Most launch problems are small: an old phone number, a form that sends to the wrong inbox, a menu that breaks on mobile. Each one quietly costs enquiries.

The most important test is the simplest: submit a real enquiry and make sure it arrives where it should.

Start With Accurate Business Details

Analytics, SEO, content and lead tools all work from the same information about the business. If the services, locations or contact details are wrong in one place, the mistake spreads everywhere else. Record them once, accurately, before anything else is configured.

Tracking From Day One

Google Analytics 4 and Google Search Console should be set up and verified before traffic starts arriving. Data can’t be collected retrospectively, and submitting the sitemap helps Google find every page sooner.

Never Miss a Lead

A lead management system keeps every enquiry in one place, whether it came from a form or a call. Email and SMS notifications make sure the right people know about a new lead straight away, while it’s still warm.

SEO and Social, Switched On

Launch day is the starting line for SEO. Once the target services and locations are set and a publishing schedule is in place, the SEO team can begin implementing the strategy. A social publishing platform keeps the business visible while search visibility builds.
